Why Stoneware
Built to survive the journey.
A vase is the hardest ceramic shape to move safely. It is tall, narrow at the neck and top-heavy, so any impact in transit concentrates exactly where the wall is thinnest. That is the practical reason we build in stoneware rather than earthenware: it is fired hot enough to become dense and non-porous, which makes it harder and more chip-resistant on a pallet, in a stockroom and on a retail shelf.

Do you manufacture the vases yourself, or buy them in?
We manufacture them. The vases are made in our own unit in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh, not sourced from a third party and relabelled. That matters for a bulk buyer, because it means one accountable point of contact from enquiry through to dispatch, manufacturer-direct pricing with no trader margin stacked on top, and control over the glaze and the finish on your run.
What vase forms do you make?
Sculptural pieces, tall slim bottles, wide jug forms with handle and spout, round donut and open ring shapes, vertically ribbed and deeply fluted bodies, heart and oval cutout forms, open teardrop loops, and classic tall hourglass silhouettes including hand-painted cobalt botanical work. The designs published on this website are a selection rather than the full range, which is larger and changes as new pieces come into production, so if you are looking for a form you cannot see here it is worth asking.
Are the vases watertight, or decorative only?
Most are functional vessels that hold water. A few are built as sculpture rather than as vases: the Coral Fan Vase, for example, has no opening at all and is a display piece. Because that distinction matters if you are buying for a florist or a hotel, tell us the intended use at enquiry and we will confirm which designs in your shortlist are vessels and which are sculptural.
Are they sold singly or as sets?
Both, depending on the design. Some are single pieces, some are duos, and several are graduated trios. Of the trios, a few are sold as a fixed set and others can be taken as a set or split and ordered singly. The product page for each design states which applies.
What sizes are they, and can I get exact dimensions?
The range runs from small shelf pieces up to tall floor-adjacent forms. We confirm exact height and opening diameter per design at enquiry rather than publishing a single figure, because the dimensions differ design by design and a trio is quoted as three separate measurements. Tell us the designs you are interested in and we will send the measurements for those.
Can you match a glaze to our colour palette?
Yes, within limits worth knowing up front. Glaze colour is the most common thing buyers change, and we mix to a brief across speckle, matte, gloss and hand-painted finishes. A fired glaze cannot be matched reliably against a printed swatch, because colour shifts in the kiln, so we work from a fired sample and plan the glaze batches around your run. A custom colour carries its own minimum per colour, separate from the order minimum, so tell us the palette and the quantities together and we confirm what is workable.
Can the vases carry our branding, or come in our own retail packaging?
Yes to both, with one thing worth knowing early: branded work carries a noticeably higher minimum than a plain order of an existing design, because the run is set up specifically for you. That figure is open to discussion rather than fixed, so it is better raised at the first enquiry than after a sample round. A logo can be hand-painted onto the piece and fired, which makes it permanent. Printed retail packaging in your own branding is available on larger runs. Send us your artwork and the quantities you have in mind, and we will tell you what works on a fired surface, what is better carried on the packaging, and what the minimum looks like for your particular job.
Will every vase in a bulk order look identical?
Our stoneware is finished and glazed by hand, so slight natural variation in tone and finish between pieces is normal. It is a characteristic of hand-finished ceramic rather than a defect. Shapes and dimensions stay consistent. If you need a close colour match across a large run, flag it up front so we can plan the glaze batches around it.
What is your minimum order?
We keep minimums flexible rather than fixing a single cut-off, and mixed orders across designs and categories are welcome. Tell us the quantities you are working to and we will confirm what is workable.
How do you pack vases so they survive transit?
Vases are the most awkward ceramic shape to ship, because tall narrow forms concentrate impact at the neck. Natural straw is our usual cushioning material, since it is light and inexpensive and protects the pieces without adding the weight and cost of synthetic fillers. What we actually use is specified per order, because a shelf-ready retail carton and an export pallet are not the same job, and the destination and mode of transport change what the packing has to survive. We confirm the packing spec with your quote.
